You must be the change that

you want to see in the world.

Fion Huang

FUNtastic® Trainer

Fion first came into contact with tutoring when she was only a Junior College student. From then on, she has gone on to take up various assignments with students from preschool to upper primary. She was most inspired by younger children when she taught in a kindergarten.

She believes that inculcating the right values in them during their foundation years is very crucial. Children will only do well when they possess the right guidance and they will emulate what others demonstrate. Thus, being a role model to them is of high significance. It is the only way that they will learn.

Being a nature lover, Fion loves taking long walks in places like the Botanic Gardens and even as far as Pulau Ubin. To her, the mere sights and sounds of nature calm people down, and help people to understand themselves more. Learning to smell the roses is a good way to appreciate life, and stay contented just like children. When we know how insignificant we are, compared to the whole universe, we are less likely to get vexed easily by problems and stress of daily life.

Fion’s greatest wish is to be able to bring meaning into the lives of others. As someone who feels very strongly for the misery and poverty of others, she hopes that she can bring a smile to them when they need some warmth. Thus, she hopes that her teachings in Mind Edge can help inspire more students to become more concerned with what is happening around them and also understand their own vocations and missions in life.

I am here to encourage, educate

and empower.

Isaac Lam

FUNtastic® Trainer

Isaac first came into contact with tutoring when he was only a polytechnic student. From then on, he has gone on to take up various assignments with students from upper primary. In 2010, he obtained the advance certification in theology where he was trained in areas such as public speaking, leadership, teaching and counselling.

From his close to 10 years working experience with youth and young adults, he realised that most people waste their youth due to the lack of knowledge and understanding. They make unwise choices by making wrong references in life often using wrong factors and techniques.

His strong belief in training and self development came from his own childhood. He used to be a very shy, timid boy, until he decided to put his foot down and make a change through self development and training. He signed up for every single class and workshop that was available to him that he could afford from social etiquette to public performances. Soon the entire school and even some students from neighbouring schools knew about him.

Aside from being awarded a scholarship, he was also nominated by his school as a role model and student leader. He continued to enrol himself for self development courses, which has since helped him achieve early promotion and pay rise in the workplace, as well as foster good working relationships with his colleagues, supervisors, managers and directors.

As he enjoys his life and relationships with others, he is passionate in educating and empowering youths to succeed in life.

The good teacher explains;

the great teacher inspires.

Kelly Lee

FUNtastic® Trainer

Since Kelly was fourteen, Psychology has always been her passion, with this goal in life, she went through many adversities and hard work which brought her to the final step of fulfilling her life-long dream, pursuing the Masters in Counseling Psychology at the Nanyang Technological University.

Her area of study and interest is adolescent psychology where she finds great consummation in helping adolescents with difficulties relating to stress, emotional problems and troubled relationships. She is currently a volunteer counselor, as she had to take time off from being a full time counselor to concentrate on her studies.

Through part-time teaching in schools, she finds great satisfaction in not only educating students but also inspiring them to pursue their goals and dreams.

After relating to adolescents, she has also found great fervor in training students to achieve positive self-esteem, which is the very backbone of Mind Edge’s fantastic program. Growing up, Kelly realized the importance of self-esteem, which has changed her life dramatically into helping her become what she is today.

Fulfilment to me is

to be able to share something

so that someone else

becomes better.

Manju

FUNtastic® Trainer

Manju, a graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Social Sciences, specialized in sports and performance and had conducted peak performance mental skills workshops for student-athletes in various schools.

In addition to being involved as an athlete with the sport of touch football for five years, playing competitively for her tertiary institution and for the Singapore Recreation Club Women’s Touch Football team, she has also coached Touch Football in various primary and secondary schools for the past 7 years.

It is during this course of coaching that she discovered her love for mental skills, peak performance and working with children. “I learnt a lot while coaching Touch Football. Managing a group of 50 enthusiastic students in an open field requires a lot of skill and spontaneity; and of course, a lot of patience was built as well,” Manju recalls.

MIND EDGE was a natural choice for Manju, whose love for psychology, mental skills, laughter and people, especially children, coincided with all that the organization stood for.

be most remembered for.

Michelle Peh

FUNtastic® Trainer

Born with a passion in music, art and dance, Michelle joined the design industry upon graduating and has travelled extensively to several parts of America, Europe and Asia before deciding to become a full-fledged trainer.

Her artistic journey has strongly fuelled her love for learning and encouraged her in her pursuit of excellence. She is in love with the world’s number one genius - Leonardo da Vinci for the maestro said that in order to develop a good and powerful brain potential, one must “study the art of science and the science of art.”

Michelle has a particular soft spot for children and she has been volunteering her free time with MINDS (children), VSSA (children) and Lion’s Club associations. Cutting her teeth in memory training for young children has been the most exciting experience of her life.

“They are my teachers, for they taught me many creative things which are totally imaginative and out of this world. I truly find this experience to be particularly rewarding.”

A hundred years from now...

the world may be different

because I was important

in the life of a child.

Pereira Kelly Ann

FUNtastic® Trainer

Graduating with a degree in Business and Management, Kelly quickly joined the corporate world with a thirst to climb the corporate ladder.

Throughout her years in Marketing, while challenging, Kelly did not feel a sense of fulfilment. At the end of the day she didn’t feel like she was contributing to a greater good.

After some soul-searching and affirmation from the ones closest to her heart, she realised, teaching those kids gave her that innate fulfilment. She found that with children, things were simpler. The world was allowed to be rainbow-coloured and filled with silly laughter while learning new things.

In her class you can expect to be taken on a ride. Your imagination will widen and learning will be exciting and enriching.

Don't ever let anyone make you

feel like you don't deserve what

you want. Because you DO!

Rishi Budhrani

FUNtastic® Trainer

An Honors Graduate from the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information at Nanyang Technological University, Rishi has attempted a variety of careers at a young age. Whether it is directing a film or writing for television, hosting an event or moderating a forum, acting on stage or teaching speech and drama to children, there is no task too difficult for this man.

One of the most powerful tools for him is humor. He truly believes that if you are able to laugh at yourself, then you will be able to overcome the most difficult obstacles. He is a living example of this; someone who has learnt to take difficulties in his stride, learn and grow from them.

An articulate and charismatic speaker, Rishi is able to forge strong relationships with his audience and bring the best out of them. He wants to make a difference in people's lives and is grateful for being given the opportunity to do this at Mind Edge.

Live out of your imagination,

not your history.

Sabarudin Hashim

FUNtastic® Trainer

Saba is a former IT analyst and trainer from a US Investment Bank. Having discovered his passion for training through his involvement in various community projects, he is now set to motivate and nurture young minds to prepare for what he describes as the “global arena”.

Prior to joining Mind Edge, he has trained many working adults who fell prey to the economic recession in 1998 and 2003 by equipping them with I.T. as well as life skills to get back on track and securing new jobs.

During his recent stint as a staff of local university, he has seen undergraduates disillusioned and burnt out when they encounter difficulties at this major crossroad of their lives. Some begin to question if they are on the right path whereas many others lose interest in their studies. Saba felt that given the mental tools and the right support system, they could have avoided the common pitfall that many young students face these days.

Saba cares for the young students as he was once grappling with self-esteem issues and peer-pressure. On top of that, he had a paralyzing fear of public speaking. Once and for all, he decided to take massive actions in re-gaining confidence in himself: He campaigned and ran for elections to the Students Council and was ranked in the top 3 at the ballot box. To further conquer his stage-fright, he took up the lead-vocalist role in the school Stage Band, getting accustomed to performing in front of a live audience numbering by the hundreds.

From his experience, he is confident that many students and youths alike can overcome the challenges they face and stop them from haunting them in their adult life. The Key is Early Positive Intervention. This is when their old disempowering beliefs are challenged and replaced with empowering ones. To back their new found believes, they are then trained in learning techniques that will follow them well into their adult life. This is where Mind Edge comes into the picture.

A person who

never made a mistake

never tried anything.

Siti Aisyah

FUNtastic® Trainer

Aisyah is a conscientious and enthusiastic trainer in Mind Edge who loves sports and acting. She is dedicated and passionate in her craft. She ensures she gives back to the community and volunteers regularly at an orphanage. Aisyah believes that being part of Mind Edge is definitely a stepping stone in cultivating and training the young minds for the future. Quoting Mahatma Gandhi indeed inspired her further. He said, “The future depends on what we do in the present”.

As a child, Aisyah remembers going to school and feeling despondent with her grades and future. Now an adult, she wants to provide an environment of positivity for her students to start believing in miracles. Indeed! Looking forward to every class with zest, she believes, “Yesterday is but today’s memory, and tomorrow is today’s dream”, as inspired by Kahlil Gibran.
